Inman Family Wines – Feast it Forward, Napa

I had the opportunity to sample Inman Family Wines “Endless Crush Rose” for an article I was publishing in Amaré Magazine right before I had the chance to meet Kathleen Inman in person. I was already a big fan of her rosé, so I was excited to get to know more about her and her brand.

I met Kathleen in her new Napa tasting room which is kind of an interesting concept. It is a shared space and I am unsure what to call it exactly, wine bar, shop, interior design studio, kitchen inspiration palace, or place to hang out and support philanthropy with every penny you spend.  Did you follow all of that?  The Feast it Forward shop touts itself to sell “Wine Country Inspired Products with Purpose”. Oh, and it’s also an online network and lifestyle brand according to their website just in case you weren’t confused enough.

Let’s just say, the space is interesting and colorful with many things to capture your attention and imagination while you enjoy your glass of wine, explore, and shop. It was also a little confusing that Inman Family wines are made in Sonoma and not Napa, but Kathleen explained that Napa is where she grew up and where her roots lay. Inman Family Wines also have their main tasting room in the Russian River Valley in case you are over in that direction.

Tasting through the Inman Family wines while listening to Kathleen’s story was an enjoyable experience.  It was a little strange hearing her life story of how she met and married an English man after corresponding with him long distance in between. Strange because that is the story of my own life and how I met my English husband!  Talk about coincidence!

We started off the tasting with their Blanc De Noir Estate Sparkling wine from their Olivet Grange Vineyards ($73).  This sip was crisp and dry with lots of minerality, acidity, and lively bubbles. This would be great with oysters on a hot summer’s day.Next in our tasting was the 2016 Russian River Pinot Gris ($35). High acidity and notes of citrus fill the glass leaving your mouth watering. This reminded me of some of the wines that are being produced in England and other colder climate European countries.

My favorite of the line up was next with the 2017 Endless Crush of Pinot Noir Rosé ($38).  This is their best seller and I can absolutely taste why. Floral and light, this wine reminded me far more of the rosés I have enjoyed in Europe as opposed to the ones I have had here at home.

I also really enjoyed the 2015 Sexton Road Ranch Pinot Noir ($68). The nose of this wine was sage and dark forest fruits which teased me to explore the glass further. There was a soft mouth of cherries and minerals in my glass and high acidity which make this a wine to enjoy with food.

Feast it Forward has all kinds of cooking shows, concerts, and events to enjoy while you sip your wine. They have several indoor and outdoor spaces to enjoy as you explore the Inman Family Wines lineup.  Take a little walk across the street after wandering through the Oxbow Market and see for yourself what it is all about.
